About the Artist
Pino (Giuseppe Dangelico) (1939–2010) was an Italian-born American artist acclaimed for his romantic figurative paintings that blend classical technique with contemporary elegance. Born in Bari, Italy, Pino studied at the Art Institute of Bari and later at Milan’s Academy of Brera before immigrating to the United States in 1979.

Early in his U.S. career, Pino gained recognition as a top illustrator, producing more than 3,000 book covers for major publishers. By the 1990s, he returned to fine art full time, where he developed a distinct visual language centered on graceful female forms, intimate family scenes, and Mediterranean-inspired color palettes.

While his technique was grounded in the academic tradition of the great masters, Pino’s compositions radiate warmth and emotional depth. His paintings and limited editions—particularly his giclées and hand-embellished canvas works—remain highly sought after by collectors for their timeless beauty and painterly refinement.

Pino’s legacy lives on through his enduring works, celebrated in galleries and private collections worldwide.
