Sergey Goncharenko was born in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. Since 1987 he is member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. In 1993 he went to university in Ukraine where he met his future wife Vera in an Environmental Science class trip to the Safari.

Their love for nature created their unique connection. More specifically, their love for tigers. The artistic couple has similar theme for their paintings, but their styles is completely different.
