Reuven Rubin

1893-1974

Israeli artist Reuven Rubin is best known for his paintings depicting Israel’s distinctive landscapes and the lives of its people. Rubin began his artistic career while studying in Jerusalem at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, but he soon realized that his stylistic preferences and artistic endeavors would be better served at Paris’ Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Since the artist’s early exhibitions in the 1920s, Reuven Rubin prints have been popular internationally, and Rubin won the Israel Prize in 1973 for his artistic work.

Often, Reuven Rubin prints capture biblical themes, and transform everyday Israeli life and figures into divine, symbolic scenes in a modern artistic style. Reuven Rubin paintings’ prices widely vary depending on age and history, creating great opportunities for collectors.
