Jean Claude Novaro

1943-2014

Jean-Claude Novaro (Born: 18 October 1943, Antibes, France - Died: 30 December 2014) was a French artist considered one of the greatest glass makers of the 20th century. Novaro’s lamps, bottles, and vases utilized Art Deco-inspired shapes to create swirling, colorful forms. He pioneered techniques which included adding and layering unique materials directly into molten glass, such as metal oxides, precious stones, and luminescent powders which glow in the dark.
