Aldo Luongo

1940-

Born in Argentina in 1941, artist Aldo Luongo moved to the United States shortly after graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires. When he first arrived in the States during the '60s, he played professional soccer for the New York Cosmos. By the '70s, he was concentrating on his art career and made a series of black and white prints that garnered positive feedback. Many of Aldo Luongo's portraits that made him famous often featured a theme of two people hugging. His contemporary-impressionist style became a trademark of his work. Aldo Luongo's artwork spanned multiple mediums from oil and acrylic paints to prints. Notable Aldo Luongo portraits include those that depict athletes, which Luongo completed during his three years as the official Olympic Artist in 1988, 1996, and 2002. Whether you enjoy historical or romantic portraiture, you're sure to find alluring portrait prints for sale online or at auction.
